This Marlin 1895SS was restocked in a modern "express rifle" style.  The new buttstock has the early "S" grip configuration, but was finished off with comb nose fluting and a 1/2" red recoil pad.    The original forend was reshaped to early dimensions.  Stocks were finished with the Armory finish and checkered with a "B" pattern at 22 lpi.
