Remington Springfield 03-A4 Custom Sporter, .30-06
This Springfield rifle came to the shop for a wood restoration and bottom metal restoration at customer's request. Upon arrival it had white line spacers at the forend tip, grip cap and recoil pad. The rifle was originally done in the fifties or early sixties and had inletting concerns and several areas of broken/missing wood. All of these areas were repaired and the wood was refinished to an appropriate color and level of finish for the firearm. The bottom metal which was pitted and poorly polished was properly polished and hot blued. A Pachmayr Decelerator pad was installed with plugs cut for access to the screws. The checkering, which was tastefully laid out but poorly executed, was recut. The rifle has a Timney trigger and a low profile two-position safety compatible with scope mounting on the attached Redfield base. The barreled action and bolt have a few areas of minor cleaned rust and blue wear but are otherwise in fine condition. The bore is bright with good rifling and the rifle has been function tested.
